Green Lake Regional Park sits about 10 kilometres from Sea Lake on the Sea Lake-Birchip Road. It is known for sandy lake beaches, gum-tree shade, powered and unpowered camping, picnic and BBQ areas, swimming, boating, and bushwalking through nearby Mallee and Pine-Buloke woodland.

Before you set up, please keep these lake rules in mind.

These rules help keep Green Lake safe, tidy and enjoyable for campers, boaters, families and day visitors.

Shared spaces work best when everyone keeps the lake safe, tidy and easy to enjoy.
  1. No camping on the east side of the lake.
  2. No camping on the foreshore.
  3. Caravans should park with the tow hitch facing the lake or road where possible to enable evacuation in an emergency.
  4. Limit power usage by using gas appliances where possible to avoid tripping power.
  5. Leave 3 metres from the water edge for emergency vehicle access along the beach.
  6. Do not dispose of grey water near the lake edge.
  7. Lake water is not suitable for drinking.
  8. Wake-enhancing equipment is prohibited on the lake.
  9. Maximum of four boats on the lake at one time, with four laps when busy.
  10. Pets must be on leads at all times. Rangers visit frequently.
  11. A defibrillator is located in the log cabin.
  12. No cutting down trees.
  13. Firewood collection is allowed from tracks only, and only from fallen trees or limbs.
  14. No glass bottles or cans in fires.
  15. Dispose of rubbish in the bins provided.
  16. A fishing licence is required. Fisheries visit frequently.
  17. Be aware of falling tree limbs.
  18. Fires are not permitted on declared days of Total Fire Ban.
  19. Firearms and unregistered vehicles, including motorbikes, are prohibited.
  20. Extinguish fires before departure.
  21. Maritime rules apply on the water. Check Transport Safety Victoria waterways guidance.
  22. The nearest dump point is in Sea Lake. No dumping in the park. Fines apply.
  23. Be considerate of fellow campers.

Lake days can be quiet, active, or a bit of both.

Is there fish in the lake?

Yes. A Victorian fishing licence is required. Fish may include redfin, yellowbelly and silver perch. Trout were released previously, but availability is uncertain.

Can you catch yabbies?

Yes, but you must follow Fisheries laws and rules.

Can you have a fire?

Yes, in designated areas only / No / Subject to fire restrictions.

Can I collect firewood?

Yes / No. Please bring your own firewood if required.

Can I book a campsite?

No, campsites are first in, but you will need to contact us to book the cabins.

Is there a dump point?

Yes / No / Nearest dump point information coming soon.

Can I swim in the lake?

Yes. There is a designated swimming bay that boats are prohibited from entering.

Can I walk around the lake?

Yes, there are walking areas/trails around the lake. Refer to the lake map for trails and more information.

Are the showers hot or cold, and do I have to pay for them?

The showers are hot/cold. Payment details coming soon.
